SHINE conference prize
In 2011 the SHINE committee approved a new funding opportunity for all SHINE members. It is specifically for attending conferences and has a value of £500. This award is in addition to the long-established Hazel Williamson prize.
The prize draw takes place each year at the AGM and covers all or part of the conference fees, travel and accommodation costs. In return the prize winner agrees to write an article for the SHINE website about the conference and what they have gained professionally and personally from it.
Conference suggestions include:
Umbrella
LILAC - Librarians' Information Literacy Annual Conference
Health Libraries Group Conference
Overseas conferences will be considered however the maximum awarded will be £500, therefore it is likely that you will need to secure additional funding.
Members are permitted to apply for both this award and the Hazel Williamson bursary, however these prizes will be awarded to different individuals.
Previous winners:
- Kathleen Irvine, Highland Health Sciences Library - attended the sixth Evidence based library and information practice conference (EBLIP6), Salford, 2011. Kathleen's report.
